Investing in anti-static mats is necessary for both manufacturing facilities and office settings. Mul-T-Mat provides static dissipative matting that protects electronics from ESD (Electrostatic discharge) that may otherwise inflict damage on nearby surfaces and endanger employees. These mats remove the static electricity from individuals before they touch sensitive items.
The key difference between anti-static matting and switchboard matting is the indicated voltage it is rated for. All products are designed and tested for high voltage applications, dependent on the exact class specified. The effectiveness of an anti-static mat boils down to Ohms (electrical resistance). Static dissipative matting provides an electrical resistance range of 106-109 Ohms. ESD flows in a slower manner when compared to conductive matting (which drains ESD faster with a lower Ohms rate).
